Terms of Use
Community –including groups, forums, updates and activity
The community are of this website to provide a safe haven for mums to discuss day to day parenting, relationships, employment, business and all the other stuff a mum has to deal with.
It is intended to be a supportive, safe and non-judgemental place to “talk”, share experiences and ideas and connect with other mums.
Parts of this community, including group discussions, forums and member updates may contain profanity. It is not intended to be offensive and it is most welcomed on this site. If you are offended, you are under no obligation to participate in these threads or groups, or to befriend or interact with any member you don’t wish to.
However, any posts or updates seen to be flaming, defamatory, threatening or upsetting to other users (or other businesses, websites and/or forums/online communities) will be removed and the user may be barred. We reserve the right to remove posts that we consider to be of detriment to other users, or seen to be giving unsolicited advice. We take absolutely no responsibility for any advice you choose, or not, to follow.
Users breaching any of the site and community Terms & Conditions may also receive a warning and/or be banned either temporarily or permanently from part or the entire site. Loss of privileges, including access to certain groups, signatures, avatars, private messaging and other permissions may result.
We do encourage discussion and debate, however personal attacks, name calling, flaming and/or derogatory comments will not be tolerated. We do appreciate that debate often has grey areas, and our administrators and moderators will determine appropriateness of replies at their discretion. Their decision is final.
We also discourage irrelevant replies and comments to forum posts and updates. We appreciate and encourage discussion, not just posting for the sake of it. Irrelevant comments will be deleted and persistant postings by subscribers or memebrs may result in removal of privileges or temporary ban from the community.
Joining the community – either as a free subscriber or a paying member – offers public anonymity. Whilst members are required to provide correct and current name, address and contact information, this information is kept entirely private and confidential. All public information remains as anonymous as you make it (e.g. your username is displayed and viewable, your real name is not). Any subscriber and/or member believed or found to be:
- not who they claim to be;
- using false contact information, including email addresses;
- representing, whether consensually or not, any other person, or;
- posting false or misleading information about themselves
… will have their account deleted and be banned from the forums.
The Real Mums Admin Team, administrators and moderators reserve the right to:
- Delete and/or edit any posts, updates, groups and/or forums they deem unacceptable or in breach of the T&C
- Edit and/or remove links, images, banners and other graphics or text in signatures and/or avatars without warning
- Edit and/or remove links, images, banners and other graphics or text in posts, updates, groups and/or forums without warning
- Partially or fully ban or delete users at their discretion and without warning
The administrators and/or moderators decision is final and no discussion will be entered into.
Membership
We offer a free level of subscription to this site and community, as well as three levels of paid membership.
Whilst the content on this website is aimed at Australian Mums, and a majority of the subscribers and members of this site are based in Australia, free subscription is available to anyone who wishes to join.
We also accept Dads, however we cannot guarantee you will find the content or discussions fascinating or have much interest in being involved. Even our discussions about boobs don’t seem terribly appealing to Dads.

Business Names
** Business names as usernames are not permitted!
Please do not use business names, links and other details, including contact details, in posts, updates or signatures.
Links – the use of links in posts, updates, groups, forums and/or signatures is generally not permitted unless otherwise specified and/or without the express written consent of the administrators.
However, we know that sometimes they’re relevant. This can be a very fine line, so the following guidelines are implemented:
Links that are ok:
- Links to news and/or current affairs that are relevant or of interest to the community. They must be accompanied by attempts to create discussion (i.e. your thoughts, a question about what other subscribers and members may think etc)
- Fun stuff, like links to You Tube clips, comics, cartoons, funny articles or products
(See membership options for other allowable links)
Links that are NOT ok:
- Links to any other website that operates a business, including your own business and/or blog
- Other forums or community/social websites
- Articles pertaining to any medical, parenting or other information, particularly articles posted on other parenting websites. Articles from reputable sources (i.e. the Australian Medical Association, British Medical Journal etc) are ok
Basically, any links that promotes or encourages the purchase of any other product or service, whether or not that product or service is one you offer, or that of a friend, associate or stranger, is not permitted.
Posts, updates, signatures or other content that engages in this sort of behaviour and promotion will be deleted without warning.
If you are interested in including a link to your own business in your signature and specifically created groups and forums, please consider a Membership.
Private Messaging
Private messaging is a privilege that subscribers and members of this site have access to. It is a means to communicate with others in the community and friends you have made, in private.
Please respect this privilege and note that it is not to be used for:
- Soliciting business in any form, to promote or advertise any sales or any other business related information, or to recruit team members for other businesses
- Soliciting other subscribers or members to join any other forum/s or groups
- Threaten, condemn, interrogate or otherwise harass any other subscriber or member
- Making any negative or disparaging comments about Real Mums, the Bad/Real Mother’s Club, any part of this site, it’s owners, administrators, moderators or any other member
